The National Common Entrance Test (NCET) is the entrance exam for the 4-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) at participating IITs, NITs, RIEs, universities and colleges.
Who conducts NCET?
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts NCET. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) publishes ITEP information. Official notices are on exams.nta.nic.in/ncet.
What is ITEP?
ITEP is a 4-year dual-major degree such as B.A. B.Ed., B.Sc. B.Ed. or B.Com. B.Ed. It prepares teachers for a specific school stage: Foundational, Preparatory, Middle or Secondary.

Is there negative marking?
In NCET 2026, a correct answer earned 4 marks and a wrong answer lost 1 mark. Unanswered questions score zero. Always check the current year’s information bulletin.
How should I prepare?
Follow the loop: learn a topic, practise its questions, take a timed test, check your weak topics, revise and repeat.
Does NCET.in provide mock tests?
Yes. Quick, topic, subject, section and mixed mock tests run in a timed interface with a question palette, autosave and a detailed result.
How is admission done after the result?
Each participating institution runs its own admission process based on NCET scores, so you apply to every institution you are interested in.
Is there an age limit?
NTA did not set an upper or lower age limit for NCET 2026. Institutions may have their own eligibility rules.
Is NCET.in an official NTA website?
No. NCET.in is an independent preparation platform and is not affiliated with NTA, NCTE or the Ministry of Education.
