How to cover current affairs

NCET’s current-affairs questions come from roughly the year before the exam. Cover national and international events, government schemes, awards (Bharat Ratna, Padma awards, Nobel prizes), sports events, important days, appointments and science and technology news such as ISRO missions. Make a monthly one-page summary and revise it.

Static facts that recur

  • National days: Republic Day (26 January), Independence Day (15 August), Gandhi Jayanti (2 October), Teachers’ Day (5 September), National Education Day (11 November, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s birthday).
  • India’s first Moon landing near the south pole: Chandrayaan-3, 23 August 2023, now marked as National Space Day.
