Verbal Ability
Official unit. Questions on word order, word choice and meaning in Nepali.
About this unit
Verbal Ability is the second official unit of the NCET Nepali paper. It tests how well you handle words and sentences in Nepali. The syllabus lists four question types: rearranging the parts, match the following, choosing the correct word, and synonyms and antonyms.
How to prepare
- Read correct, well-edited Nepali: newspapers, textbooks and good literature.
- Revise grammar regularly, especially agreement, tense and word order.
- Keep a vocabulary notebook of words with their synonyms, antonyms and an example sentence.
- Practise each question type separately until you can answer quickly, then mix them.
Exam-day tip
Verbal ability questions are usually quicker than passage questions. Many students answer them first to bank marks, then give the remaining time to the passages.
